Container Update

Bro. Doss sent word that the container will not reach the orphanage until Friday.  He had a hard time getting it out of customs and had to pay a great deal of money for it to be released.  We all know Christmas is not all about presents, but children do get excited about opening gifts on Christmas day.  Pray for the children and workers as they celebrate Christmas tomorrow.  May we all be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and keep our focus on Him.

The Container Shipped!

The container was shipped out this past Saturday (11/15/14)! Please pray that all goes well as it passes through customs and Bro. Doss is able to get it out without an excessive amount of fees.  Thanks again to all who contributed items and made it possible for these precious little ones and their caretakers to have a good Christmas. To God be the Glory!

Praise the Lord! We received an offering of $1700 to finish sponsoring all the children, workers, and families.  Thank you to all of you have contributed to this effort.

Backpacks-The name brand backpacks tend to last longer.  Many people have found these at thrift stores cheap. 

Croc-type shoes-Currently on sale for $1 at many stores.

Large cookware (stock pots, baking sheets, roast pans, etc.)

Sheets (twin size), pillowcases, and small microfiber throws

Sponsor a child or a worker for Christmas-$10

Sponsor a national pastor and his family for Christmas-$60

Ten children have been sponsored so far and one family.  There are about 120 orphans, 15 workers, and 18 national pastors.  Please contact us if you would like help provide Christmas for these children!

We had a great workday in the warehouse Saturday! We were able to get about half of the clothes we have gathered so far sorted, counted, and listed. We will be having workdays every Saturday at 8am thru November 1st.  Come join us if you are able!

Sponsor a child or a family for Christmas! Ten dollars will buy each child a nice gift and school supplies for Christmas.  The boxes are put together at our church and are shipped directly to the children at the orphanage.  If you would like to sponsor a child, you can mail a check to our church and designate it to "Honduras Christmas".  Bro Doss has about twenty national families who he likes to provide Christmas gifts for as well.  We can supply them with nice gift for each member of the family for about $60 per family.  The last day for us to receive money for this Christmas project is November 1st as we will be shipping the container by November 8th.  Thank you for considering contributing to this project!

Summer Trip 2014

This summer, our church had the opportunity to visit Honduras for a week along with some of the members of Straight Paths Baptist Church.  The purpose of the visit was to replace the roof on the boy's dorm.  With the Lord's help, we were able to accomplish that goal as well as complete a few other small projects.  The most exciting part of the trip was that our spring container arrived the day before we arrived.  We were able to help organize the clothing, shoes, and household items we shipped a couple of months earlier.  It was such a blessing to be able to help in this way!  Below are some pictures taken on the trip.
